Awesome! Hopefully the Bucs add a MLB bat and pitcher at/before the deadline.

Yeah, Hurdle is going to have a real dilemma when Harrison comes back. Where does Harrison go now that Kang has proven to be a superior defensive 2nd baseman (as he has all season)? RF seems to be the logical solution but they seem super committed to Polanco there. Moving Walker to first and putting Harrison at second seems like the solution during the offseason.

A HUGE win. Bucs might be learning to win big games.

I watched that one. Great game. These skin of the teeth victories are bad for the nerves though. But like you say, the ability to pull out victories in tough circumstances is the hallmark of a top team in any sport.

So what's your mid season assessment of the Bucs, erieguy? As bad as you expected?

Bucs are playing great and if they stay injury free, I expect a wild card game. If they want more they need a MLB bat and MLB pitcher. As I said before the season, I can see them in second or below .500. Still a long way to go, however.

Because that late July 2013 series against the Cardinals, the 2013 Wild Card game, two wins in the 2013 NLDS, the Brewers series last September, etc. never happened.

The Pirates have won literally dozens of "big games" over the past two seasons.

Kang has been playing 3rd base, not 2nd. But Point well taken.
