Umps get worse all the time. Bring on replay for calls like that and let the computer call the balls and strikes. Should've been doing it starting years ago.

2nd team to 50 wins.

7 game lead for a spot in the postseason.

Looking good. Even with a banged up Cards team this should show what they're made of.

2 of the pirates best 3 position players are out for the series as well, this should show what the cards are made of.

Cards are a lot more banged up than the Bucs. Pretty sure the only +.500 team the Bucs have beat for awhile were the sliding Mets and sliding Tigers.

No excuses time. Cards are 1-2 @PNC this year. Hopefully they go at least 1-3 this trip.

Cutch and Mercer aren't slumping anymore.

That said, I would've brought Necklips back for this series. If you don't count Stewie/Cervelli, the bench of Ishikawa/Lombardozzi/Hernandez has a combined .000 average for 2015. And Tabby has a 1.000+ OPS vs Cards.

Looks like I'm getting wet again though. That'll be four of last four games attended. Weird June/July weather-wise.

I've grown to the point to appreciate your deep rooted self loathing yinzerism. Its such epic proportions you can't help but start to enjoy it. Seriously 2nd best record in MLB and every post is complaining or overly obvious backhanded compliments, its great entertainment.

Your complaint now is, the pirates aren't beating enough .500+ teams.

There are only 5 of them other than the pirates in the NL.

Of course the Braves, Diamondbacks, and Giants would make that 8 teams over .500...if you took out their series' against the Pirates.

I have zero Yinzerism going on with any Pittsburgh team. Yinzering is thinking the team is the best when they're blatantly not. I'm a fan, not a cheerleader.

Where did I complain? I pointed out that they have only beat 2+ .500 teams in a while and tonight against the Cards will be a big test for them.

Actually, if you go back to the series with the Mets, they've beat 3 teams that had winning records when they played them. They got swept by the Nats. Yinzerism would be not wanting to look at that as a problem.

You wanna be the best, you gotta beat the best...but I do understand that many are happy being over .500 and/or Buctober even if it's all but over after 4 innings.
