Hi
I wanted to know if anyone could reccommend some good preschools or daycare centers in the shadyside/point breeze/highland park areas. I have a 20 month old and a four year old and I would like them to attend the same school.
Thanks

I think you'll have a hard time finding a 'preschool' that will take a two year old.

If you want them together, you're going to have to keep the four year old in daycare, not preschool.

You might want to rethink that requirement so your four year old can prepare for kindergarten.

You should look into Kentucky Avenue School in Shadyside. I believe they have classes for kids both those ages. It's a wonderful place.

The Waldorf School (in Friendship -- not far from Shadyside) also takes both these ages.

I don't suggest Kentucky Avenue--unless your child is white. I went there and it was an insane experience. As a child it was harrowing, as an adult it was distrubing--I worked there a couple years ago and I did NOT like what I saw. I'll leave it at that. I went there when it was Mckewan and taught when it was Kentucky Avenue. Don't sen your child there. I'd be leary of waldorf schools as well--I've heard not so kosher things about them in general.

You need to be more specific, Mermaid77. People can't take your word for anything if you won't even share details. We have a member here who is PURPOSELY moving from a new england state so she can send her child to Kentucky Avenue. The entire family is relocating to Pittsburgh just for that school. You owe it to everyone to be more specific about your complaints. Otherwise, your claims will have zero credibility.
