Wednesday they were looking like they were going to be crazy...I killed a few dozen. Yesterday I saw 2 and today- one...weird how they sort of disappeared. ( crossing fingers while I knock on wood).

They are moving from the fields to the houses because the weather is getting cold (they HATE the cold).

I did not miss them, that's for sure. They are constantly around, and my pets "set them off" before I can get to them most of the time. It's very unpleasant.

What techniques is everyone using to get rid of them? Last year I waited until I saw them sneaking around inside and caught them one by one and flushed them down the toilet. This year I'm trying to be proactive and shop-vac them off the house near doors/windows before they get in. I'm hoping that the "attack phase" only lasts another week or two before it gets cold enough to kill them off.

We do the catch and flush method. We started killing them outside wherever we see them, not just near the doors and windows.

I did not like wasting water with the flushing, so I use duct tape now.
Touch a piece of duct tape to the back, fold edges and toss.

For those on ouside of windows and screens I spray with soapy water which works but slowly. ( It works on their cousins the squash bugs so i figured it worth a try.) inside I smash with a vengeance.

Drowning vs. suffocation. This sounds utterly morbid and gross...I like it.
