The Frank and Seder Building is a historic department store (now office building) in downtown Pittsburgh, located at the corner of Smithfield and Fifth Avenue. Oxford Development has proposed to demolish for new construction, or refurbish, the existing building, which was built circa 1917.

Please sign my petition and send a clear message to Oxford Development that we would like to see this great old building preserved. Your voice may make the difference!

Thank you, Brian! We already have 16 signatures, which is pretty good for a petition that has only been up a few hours. I feel pretty confident I can get at least 100. On another note, my blog hit 50,000 views today!

Congratulations on both counts!

By the way, you really need an ally in the City who can file preservation actions for you.

Right. Any volunteers? I keep thinking I will own a house in the city one of these days, but it's hard to find an affordable Victorian! Lol

I signed the petition. I cannot believe they are considering tearing this building down.

I'm really very torn on this. Another high rise in the CBD is quite the enticing alternative. It's not like this is being razed for a parking lot or garage.

It was enticing to Charlotte and Atlanta, too!
