Anyone know what the deal is with 579 North out of town?

Thanks
Woah I didn't know about that I usually park in one of the regular garages and pay an arm and a leg. What street do you access that from Fifth Avenue?

Don't know, come in from 579, go past where the old arena used to be and turn into the garage. You have to get there before 8:30 for the 6 buck rate. It's a little bit of a walk, but worth it IMHO.

State trooper on a motorcycle stopped a very large black SUV (Suburban or Yukon I think) today while we were coming in on the HOV. I was trying to figure out how he could tell there was only one person in there. I couldn't tell from where I was. Sometimes there's a kid in back in the middle or something, plus the tint was pretty dark. I guess if there turns out to be a second person the cop just goes "Have a nice day" though maybe he had a better vantage point somewhere.

I saw an unmarked car pull someone over on the HOV this morning too. Car right next to me had one person in it, he looked very nervous, I chuckled.

HOV stands for High Occupancy Vehicle Lane and is used to reduce congestion along I-279, the Parkway North, by promoting ridesharing via carpooling, vanpooling or public transportation. With the exception of motorcycles, all vehicles using the HOV lane must have at least 2 people in them between the hours of 6:00 - 10:00 AM and 3:00 - 7:00 PM Monday - Friday. A complete schedule for the HOV lane can be found by clicking Hours of Operation. For a map containing information on where to access the HOV lane click Access Points.
PennDOT District 11-0 Traffic & Maps - HOV Lanes

I ride my motorcycle from McKnight to the north shore on weekdays when its not raining in the morning.

A couple days ago I saw a motorcycle officer on the northbound 279 normal lanes going a bit slower and obviously looking to the west. A little later I did a double take when I saw another motorcycle officer going northbound on the shoulder of the HOV lane (that was set for southbound traffic in the AM) also riding slow and looking toward the west. Not sure if they where looking for HOV cheaters or something else.

I park at West General Robinson Garage. The HOV lane basically take me right to it.
