Track the 765 Online - Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society » Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society

I don't know much about this. Anyone know anything. When will it be in our area? Seems like Saturday?

I think it would be cool to see it.

Here is the GPS route. Looks like it will be just past the M Rocks Bridge tonight. Wonder why there is no press? Maybe I am in the minority wanting to have a look at it roll by? Judging by the responses here...

I wouldn't mind seeing it. I was hoping it would come through Saturday morning, since I'll be doing a run down the trail towards the penitentiary then. According to that map, it would cross that trestle that is above the trail between the West End and Mckees Rocks bridge. That GPS map is a bit confusing as to when it will arrive.

Looks like you can catch it again if you are busy this weekend.

August 20th – Harrisburg, PA – Pittsburgh (deadhead)
August 21st – Pittsburgh, PA – Bellevue, OH (deadhead)

Whats 'deadhead' (in railroad terms, not band groupie terms) by the way?

Means they're moving the train and its non-revenue producing, i.e. is just flat transportation for hte locomotive.

Yes, seems to be common in pretty much all manner of transport in different ways, such as truck driver with empty truck going to next pick up, pilot commuting to next assignment on another plane, etc.

This train is apparently already in Conway as of yesterday, not sure if there's a way to just see it there at the rail yard or not. It's a big yard so it may be kinda lost among all the freight cars sitting around, and I'm not sure if they have a guard that stops non-employees from going down in or what. You can see the top of the car entrance at Rt 65, but I've never tried to go in. You can also see a fair amount of the yard from Rt 65 as well, but not all of it because of the terrain.

I went out of my way to come home that way today, hoping to catch a glimpse of it. Couldn't see it. I didn't get in, or cause, any traffic accidents, so maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough...

Here is a wee video of the train running by Osborne. Hope to see it tomorrow if I can. Been pretty sick for a few days and had to drive a car.
