PG Digs

I'm sure this has probably been brought up around here, but the PG recently launched a photo archive project that's quite fascinating. I love this kind of Pittsburgh history, and I'm looking forward to them adding more shots. Right now, I think they're adding a new one every day.

My cynical side thinks it's some sort of long-term revenue generating plan for them. I don't see any ads, so perhaps not. But I'll enjoy it while I can.

I really like this picture from JFK's 1962 visit to Pittsburgh.

This is a really interesting site put up by the PG. That site will be added to my favorites for sure.

Hopefully they get it fleshed out and the search function works well--it would be great to have something like the historic images archive at Pitt.

Yes, I have the PG "liked" on FB. This is my most interesting news feed other than my cousin eating tuna on toast.

They will usually post something interesting building or bridge and let people guess what it was. A few weeks ago they did a very odd spiral building downtown. I will have to find it. It was the bank tower. I never been in it, guess there is a spiral staircase? Looks interesting.

edit-this is what they posted on their FB page. Don't see it on their archive site though.
