Yeah, I'd be really interested to find out how annoying Pitt staff and students is advancing the cause of Scottish Separatism.

I don't know about the Pitt staff, but Sir William Wallace certainly would be proud.

William Pitt the Elder was a famous 18th-Century Whig, so maybe Adam Stuart Busby sees himself as a modern-day Jacobite.

Maybe he didn't like Pitt's partnership with the EU & their European
Union Center of Excellence. Though I personally like the neo-Jacobite connection better.

I think it's a very old grudge. Revenge is best served cold...but this is ridiculous.

A Scotsman living in Ireland = Scots-Irish. Pittsburgh is the Scots-Irish capital of America. Voila!

Speaking of which, the Highland Clearances officially began in William Pitt's time, and I think Pitt has been blamed in part for taking fighting men out of the Highlands by forming the Highlands regiments that fought in the French and Indian War (and elsewhere in subsequent decades). In turn the Clearances helped lead to a lot of the Scottish-ancestry immigration to this area.

thanks to that guy....i got an A on a final exam and an A+ in a graduate class.

his (presumedly) bomb threat closed our building the afternoon of the final exam....the test ended up being a take-home exam instead of the standard 3-hour in-class drudgery. 10+ hours to complete a final exam? winning....
