Please signal when you are changing lanes, especially (but not only) when you are on an interstate. People behind you are coming onto the interstate from the ramp and planning to get into the right lane for exit (for e.g. coming off of Forbes and exit onto Grant Street). During merging, we need to plan to accelerate, change lanes and decelrate to exit speeds.

A little heads-up from your turn signals would be much appreciated.

Most likely the turn signal lights are broken. I see that in KC all the time. In addition, Yield Signs are broken in KC.

i might have made this thread today myself - there was a person driving near us all the way down penn from hay to friendship who was speeding, weaving in and out of traffic without using signals, and stopping in the middle of the crosswalk at every light. of course they snuck by everyone on the right at negley. even so, they were never more than a couple of cars in front of us (they were directly in front of us at friendship) and we were going the speed limit or a couple of mph over the whole way. how many lives did this one person endanger just to be a hundred feet or so further down the road? and of course failing to use signals doesn't even accomplish that. so, so stupid.

I always signal, but it would be nice if Pittsburghers didn't take that as a sign to accelerate in order to prevent you from changing lanes.

All I'm saying is that the more I travel, the more I realize driving around Pittsburgh really does suck. A friend of mine lives in Buffalo, NY. Driving around Buffalo is so peaceful it's ridiculous. I've gone through both morning and evening "rush hours" in Buffalo. I put that in quotes because their idea of traffic is our idea of the Parkways "flowing freely." No one speeds and no one is aggressive up there. Reason? The locals know that they'll surely get pulled over. My friend included says NY highway patrol does NOT mess around up there. If someone gets a ticket for anything on the Parkway around here, it's a shock to us all. I'm a prime example...I was on the Parkway East at Penn Hills the other night admittedly doing 77 when it's a posted 55. There was no one real close to me in front or back and before it was too late I saw a cop sitting at their usual post at Penn Hills...to my surprise I kept moving and the cop never pursued me. Rumor has it, you won't get looked at on the Parkways around here until you're doing 80 or better.

Around Buffalo, it seems that no one goes over 65. It's truly a pleasure to drive around that city and area compared to around here.

Turn signals are usually the least of my complaints while driving these fantastic roadways around here!
