Do not take your dog to Frick Park if it has a fear of bikes. Frick Park is ruled by bikes and dogs and I love it but it may not be for you. Riverview has fewer riders and plenty of trails, you'll still encounter bikes just not as many in the woods.

I guess you can do that in South Park too. I saw many people with dogs in South Park.
Frick park has many upon many trails. The steeper ones up and down the hills often don't have as many bikers.

The only other section I can think of is in Schenley park. At the end of Pocusset st. in Squirrel hill is a trail entrance that leads to Prospect Drive (aka a expletive word towards homosexuals circle), and trails the lead off it that go up the hill. You could walk back there and get a good 30 minute walk in if you loop around the trails that lead of the main trail and never see another bike or person for that matter.

The whole area between Greenfield Ave, Pocusset, and Hobart has small trials all around with no bikers at all.

Take your dog wherever you like. If he bites a cyclist, we can just have him put down. The cyclist I mean, not the dog. Cause everybody knows that's how we feel about cyclists here in Pittsburgh.

(Ok, Groar, Curtis, Scott, yinz all know that was supposed to be a joke, right? You're allowed to laugh...)

There is a decent trail by my house. It is in Franklin Park at Linbrook park. You have to drive up the hill. Just follow the signs for the Eagle Scout trail. It isn't a very long hike but it is nice and I have never seen any bikes on it. I take my dog all the time. You may see horses though so hopefully your dog is okay with that.
