Taking a return trip to Connecticut from Indiana and I will be passing through western PA on Friday the 29th of November. May do an overnight there on Thanksgiving.

How congested are the roads on Black Friday? I was thinking of stopping at the Pennsylvania Macaroni Company store to pick up some things but I was wondering if I'd run into parking issues or heavy traffic?

I'd chance it. I can't say I know there'll be more people in the malls than in the Strip District, but it might not be too bad. And look what you'll miss if you don't do it.

I don't think you'll have a problem, PA Macaroni is no where near a mall. And although the strip may well be hopping with shoppers depending on the weather, there should be sufficient parking in the Donzi's lot as many office workers who use those lots will be off work that day.

I don't mind some traffic or even having to wade through a few people to get to and from the store. I just want to avoid a massive amount of either especially at the same time. Even if I have to park a block or two from the store I can deal with that.

Depending on where in PA you're driving Friday is the traditional day that people from elsewhere (Ohio, Pittsburgh, etc.) head out to their hunting camps for the Monday opening of deer season.

Last year, I made the mistake of going to PennMac the day before Thanksgiving. The cheese room was so full, that when they called my number, say it was number 97, it was the wrong 97. I was in the second group of tickets: B/97, not A/97. I'd've had to wait another 100 people, so I left.

This is what I am hoping to avoid. Precisely why I decided to ask about what to expect on Black Friday. I have always ordered online in the past but since I am going to be passing through the area I figure I could save some money on shipping costs and buy at the retail outlet. Hope I don't run into a line like the one you've seen last year.

There's no reason they'd have that kind of line the day after.
