can anyone tell me about this high rise complex in Mt. Lebanon/ Castle Shannon area - I've seen postings on rent.com (I think) that state it looks ok on the outside and really bad once inside but I don't know how old that post was and from someone else that it might be retirement housing although the ad says nothing about over 55.

It's called the Chateaugay Apartments.

Apartments in Pittsburgh, PA - North Hills (http://www.lobosmanagement.com/locations_details.php?ID=38&catID=1 - broken link)

My fiance works for CMU and has dealt with Lobos mgmt in the past; CMU broke partnership with them because of how bad they rip people off, especially when moving out.

I also happened to check it out when I first knew I was moving down here; I responded to an ad in the paper for a "condo" for 380 a month. The kitchen was tiny and bathroom even smaller. The "bedroom" and "living room" were all one room.

So you were in the building? You must have been in a studio apartment? Any other observations?

You were correct about it being 55 or over, more like 70 or over. The "condo" wasn't even wired for cable LOL.

Default Chateaugay apartments in castle shannon pa

i live in these apartments, LOBOS owns them and do not do any maintanence timely. The elevator was out of service for 9months! All the lights are burned out in the parking lot and it is pitch black at night. It is supposedly a secured building and the front door lock has been broken for weeks! The carpeting is old with stains. There are all ages of people living here. The apartments are roomie with nice balconies. Lobos is a slum lord as far as im concerned.

That's most certainly the reputation they have, read reviews of apartments in our area, and it will reflect that for sure.
