Do you guys get early voting? Do people use it? I'm kind of bummed my state won't have it this time around because I really want to stop all those political phone calls. They say that the second people note that I've voted my phone will stop ringing. I know you guys must have the swing state blues, too. Are you tempted to vote early just to stop it?

We can't. There is no early voting in PA and you need an excuse to get an absentee ballot to why you can't vote on Election Day to get it. Also, I have seen only a few Obama ads and none for Romney here so far this year. I hope it stays that way becuase this change has been nice.

Holy cow! No ads? Really? I just assumed you were being inundated since PA is a swing state. Down my way we have an average of 6-8 ads per tv show. It's especially bad if you watch sports or the news. There are so many that they run them back to back (A Democrat ad, then a Republican ad, then a Democrat ad, then a Republican ad) and often they're aggravatingly nasty. But the calls are worse!

Anyway, thanks for answering my question. I've actually been joking around with my husband that we should move to a state that has early voting and after the ballgame last night he started talking about moving to Pittsburgh. But alas, no early voting for you guys either.

It's been rather quiet with the political ads for President here. I guess with polls showing Obama ahead by nearly 10% and the no Republican has won this state since 1988, they're trying with a different state this year.

I don't really know if PA is all that much of a swing state anymore. President Obama is enjoying a comfortable lead here in the latest poll, if I remember correctly.

PA really isn't a swing state, advertising money or lack there of proves that. There's been some outside money here, mostly targeting the Critz/Rothfus congressional race but for the most part the Presidential contest has mostly been quiet. Money might start rolling in on the Senate race if that tightens any more, but I really doubt it considering national money could probably be better used elsewhere.

The lack of presidential ads has been wonderful!

So it's not just that I DVR almost everything that I watch, there really haven't been many Presidential race ads, huh? Cool. But I am totally sick of the Critz/Smith ads. From both sides.

Oh, and Caladium, it's Pittsburghers, not Pittsburghians. And really did you expect a state where you have to go to 3 different places to buy wine, beer and groceries to have modern voting laws or make voting more convenient? We'll get early voting around the same time they do away with the State Store system...
