For the last week or so I have noticed these gold street signs w/ black jets on them popping up all over route 8 (etna/glenshaw/allison park). The signs make it look as if you would reach an airport if you followed them... followed the direction the planes were pointing, that is. You won't be finding an airport. The signs are at all major intersections, and point in different directions at each intersection, so clearly they are leading you NOWHERE. No wording on them. There seems to be no purpose but I'm curious because they're relatively new and as a daily commuter I'd like to be in the know!
What gives? What the heck are they?

Not sure what move it would be, but that totally sounds like the kinds of signs they put up when movies are filming. There are several filming in the area right now, I believe.

Lol...but having lived on military bases ( husband was in Naval aviation)I always smiled at road signs that read " Yield to taxiing aircraft. ". I always looked twice!
