So buried in the Sandy thread was this little tidbit of information....

Trick or treating has been rescheduled for several area townships:

http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2012/...r-treat-times/

Now, I have no idea how this plays out, but if the weather is craptastic on Wednesday, we'll probably go to beaver valley mall or something.

And I'll take my son out on Saturday and give out candy on Saturday. I expect confusion. Are people in this area pretty good about checking municipality websites for stuff like this?

Not rescheduled everywhere, just a few so far. Couple of lists:

Halloween, trick-or-treat changes because of Hurricane Sandy - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

They're bumping to Saturday, which means if that happens where I live the half dozen kids we usually get will have to do without. Franklin Park though, who the heck is going to be home at 2-4pm on Saturday? That's wacky.

We don't get many kids either. I hope they don't reschedule. We have plans to go out of town. Hubby always feels it's our moral obligation to stay home. He's right.

What a surprise, who the heck wants to get black walnuts for a treat?

Now the city's trick or treat has changed to Saturday.

Sandy Causes Municipalities To Change Trick-Or-Treat Times « CBS Pittsburgh

Read that list carefully. There's at least one oddball that lists the 5th as the date (Monday). Of course, that's where I live. I guess it's not really surprising as every single time the date fell on a Fri, Sat or Sun it was never done on that night in Economy.

With the other three munis in Regent Square (the City, Swissvale, and Edgewood) rescheduled, I hope Wilkinsburg does too.

I feel it is my moral obligation to hand out candy as well, since I took in so much as a kid! I was so excited to have Halloween off this year and had a costume to wear. Alas, I work on Saturday evening so I'll miss it all.

Thanks for posting this, I may not have known otherwise. I hope the candy lasts an extra few days; it's already been slowly disappearing.

I'm glad Penn Hill has been rescheduled now too. Saturday is a better night for it anyway.
