At 55 seconds, Williams refers to Tuesday, the 11th of December as "this week". It's real hard to determine exactly when this clip aired, but one source I read states that it was on Dec 15th, obviously in the morning.
It was that afternoon that Medical Examiner Carver stated that the Bushmaster was the weapon used in the killings.
Are you positive that the posting of the clip you linked to, on Dec 26th, without any information stating when it was first aired, isn't just an attempt to feed the confirmation bias of those who'd like to believe that an assault weapon was not used?
I'm open minded. Find me a statement from a credible (meaning official) source, that contradicts what the M.E. said on the 15th, and I'll be happy to read it.

Why are people still arguing about semi-auto rifles vs semi-auto handguns? Red herring, people. Handguns with regular size clips killed more at Virginia Tech (all adults with less fragile bodies) and could have killed just as many at Sandy Hook. They work the exact same way.

What do you think it's used for? Deer hunting maybe? Uses the
exact same ammo as the AR-15 in question (.223 Remington and 5.56x45mm NATO) and it works the same way. It's semi-automatic. Oh, and it can use an extended clip too. But most Americans wouldn't think much of it either because it's not coloured black and scary. Stop being ignorantly hung up on cosmetics based on what you see in movies and what people in the media bubble tell you, it's so counter-productive.
