As a long time Equitable customer sick of paying significantly more then than our friends with Peoples and Columbia, I applaud this move. I'm afraid, however, that Peoples will inherit some of the management team, who's definition of hedging is to lock into the worst price possible for the longest term possible.

If the util can't accept an electronic payment (such as my water and sewer authorities out here, and small local trash collection company) the bank mails them a check. Always has been credited correctly.
I figured that's what I'd do if I find myself in that situation. Haven't received all my first utility bills yet.
