Make sure to look down past the 2019 est, which for some reason is at the top and highlighted as opposed to the actual census.
Added almost 1,000 residents. That’s a lot for 10 years. Especially in a place 100 percent built

Yeah seems like much of Allegheny County turned around this time around, even places that are almost completely built out. Possibly, much of its older population already died off and enough younger people are moving in to take their place.

I don't think Mt Lebanon has a lot of old people due to the high taxes. People move there for the schools. I would look to see if school enrollments rose in the same time period as many of these 1000 new people could be kids.

It is a desirable place too. I would just hate the upkeep costs with one of those older homes with the slate roof. Energy inefficient too. They are beautiful. I’m glad somebody else is paying for the upkeep and not me .

I actually did a science experiment in middle school comparing different roof types and slate was more energy efficient that asphalt shingle based on heat transfer resistance (I used 1/3” thick slate tiles). Ceramic was the most efficient in straight heat transfer. The problem isn’t the roof material, it’s the lack of insulating material under the roof or in the walls.

Rip out plaster walls to fill with insulation? Redo the walls? I like older houses, but it empties the wallet.

I know an attorney that has a slate roof and it was 50,000 to replace on a house 2,500 sq ft in size.

Love Mt. Lebo. I appreciate the homes there. I am not handy and don’t find enjoyment in up keeping a house built pre 1960. Pay 650K and get 1 million in headaches. Not to mention foundation problems. I’m sure a lot of those old foundations need reinforced. Just so old.

Anyway it’s great the municipality grew
