I'm moving to the Allegheny West neighborhood by the north shore & have a temp job lined up in the homestead waterfront development area & wondering how that morning commute will be on the parkway east? I know the parkway gets pretty heavy in the afternoon & I'll probably just avoid that route & cut through the southside on the commute home? Thanks!

Fellow Mountaineer/Northsider here.

You'll see some congestion around the Duquesne and Fort Pitt bridges, as well as just before you get off the parkway in Squirrel Hill/Greenfield due to the tunnel on that end of town. Everywhere in between shouldn't be too bad because you're going against traffic in leaving the city center. I'd do a test run to see how long the commute will take, but I wouldn't think that it would be longer than 20 to 30 minutes at most.
