gswpa - I think it really matters where you are in living "Pittsburgh". If desantis does get elected though, everything above may be considered one and the same, which of course would help the city core, and be more efficent use of resources.

If desantis wins, then no matter where you are living in "Pittsburgh" there will be more reason to stay. Do not give up so easily - for the sake of your kids - and others!

Don't encourage her, let her go be happy in Columbus.

Can I see some proof of this? Any of it, actually? BTW, do you have a kinder gardener writing your posts? LOL. No offense.

By the way, here was an article just in the news today. This says a lot about the local economy and is a good indication where we are heading.

Region's luxury home sales are hot

Quote:
Housing prices in many regions of the country are dropping. But in the Pittsburgh area, they're continuing to rise.

Moderator cut: do not repost copyrighted articles
People are obviously coming here to buy homes gswpa. If there was no demand for housing in Pittsburgh, ESPECIALLY during a time when even hot markets are declining in the USA, our property value would not be going up. Far from it. Your posts are completely misrepresentative, as usual.

Also, in this weeks Pittsburgh Business Times there is an interview with Herky Pollock, Executive Vice President of CB Richard Ellis, and he claims that Pittsburgh currently has 3 to 4 billion dollars worth of new development in the works which no other city of Pittsburgh's size can boast in the country.

Also, just on another random note, the downtown Pittsburgh office vacancy rates have been steadily declining for two years now, with another large decline coming once UPMC enters the US Steel Tower.

Wait until the existing home sales figures come out this week. You will see.

I do know those numbers from the entire year to date. We had less than a 5% decrease in September for total homes sold compared to last year and this during a supposed "housing market crisis"!

Not only that, but Pittsburgh saw an increase in homes being sold between $500,000 to 1 million dollars in September.

You really need learn about this stuff before you post. Homes in that price range across the country are plummeting, and yet Pittsburgh and our "crumbling economy and exodus of people" saw an increase. That is astounding!

This is what you said.

You don't have a single substantial backing to this statement whatsoever, it was a waste of time to even post it.

I didn't say Pittsburgh had positive population growth (yet) but what you claim is just downright silly.

PS. If you actually did some research, you would also know that Pittsburgh's college graduate/attachment rate is higher than the national average (something we haven't seen in ages). People are staying, actually.

As a contrast, I live in Oakland CA in a zip code that has seen a 45% DROP in home sales over the past year, and a price decline of 23%.

Now THAT'S a crisis.
