I hear both pretty frequently.

Personally, I say "porch" even if the thing I'm on isn't technically a porch.

I was amazed to learn that only in Pittsburgh to we go sled riding; everyone else seems to goes sledding.

Not sure. I would say "I'm sitting on my front stoop" but also "I'm heading down the back steps to the cellar."

Since this seems marginally topical here, I just want to take the occasion to point out that "gumband" is unarguably a stupid way to refer to a rubber band.

And by "everyone" you mean only Western PA natives. I had no idea what the heck a gumband was when I moved here. No one outside of this area will either.
