I'd be freaked out too! Can you call off work tonight so you can chill tonight?

It's a shame you had to find us this way but welcome to City Data's Pittsburgh forum.

I was getting gas a block or so from here. There were cops everywhere with machine guns drawn, a house was surrounded nearby, and cops from every single borough were there.

Just realized it was innocent bystanders who were hit, not the gunmen. What a bunch of assh0les.

All four victims were innocent bystanders? These two idiots shot at each other and missed!?!?!

Hope everyone is okay over that way. I know we have some Regent Square folks on the forum that probably shop there, since it is right down the street. That place must be pretty wild. Wasn't there a shooting there not that long ago?

I go to Edgewood Town Centre somewhat regularly, and I can tell you that there haven't been any real problems there. In fact, overall, the shopping center has been doing fairly well, and has attracted a number of new stores there in the last few years. I highly doubt this will become a common there.

I read that one of the shooters was hit. The police caught the wounded shooter, and are still looking for the other.

Can't confirm that, but seems like the case according to news reports. Most reports I've seen state that there were 3 victims, not 4.

Just read Stburr's post - the 4th must be the shooter that they caught. Glad he was caught.

I don't go there often, but I have to agree. This seems random and unfortunate.

So....if I had to chose between knives at the East Liberty Target and guns at Edgewood Town Center, I choose East Liberty.

Just the same, it's an enormous shame that in both cases, the people who were most injured were simple bystanders who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I've never been unlucky enough to be near an event like that; I hope that the people posting here who were nearby will have nothing more than frazzled nerves. And I hope those physically injured recover quickly; I heard that the Chattanoogan who was injured at Target is in good spirits.

Thanks for the welcome! And unfortunately no work is work - I will be done at 10 so at least I am almost done for the evening and then maybe some relaxation time. I think in all honesty I am still in shock a little. I just can't believe I was actually there at that moment.
