I run from 5th and Penn up to 6th St, turn left and, when I can safely cross Ft Duquesne Blvd, run onto the 6th St Bridge. From there, I will turn left to the steps (there's a ramp there too if that would be better for you) at PNC Park and run along the river. Watch out for the ducks and their...presents along the ground, though. I've made it as far as Heinz Field and back for a round trip. 5th and Penn to PNC is about 0.4 miles one way, and all the way to Heinz is 1.1 miles. My backyard is awesome!

I like running Beechwood, but my tendons rebelled so now I walk.

How many miles are you looking for? Where are you starting from?

I'm training for the half-marathon and ran 13 on Saturday. The north shore riverfront trail from Millvale to the Western Penitentiary and back is exactly 13 miles...a half marathon.

I like running through highland park. Around the reservoir and around the Jackson or Stanton extensions back into the neighborhood. B

My normal quick run is from my house to the southside trail, across hot metal bridge, down to smithfield bridge on the trail on the other side of the river, through station square and back home.

This has been my personal track for the past five years. I don't do the whole 13 too often but I am training for the Pittsburgh Half in May so I'll be on it a lot in the next five weeks.

Really? We bike that all the time. I had no idea we were riding that far.

Down Stanton Ave, left on Butler St; Left on 40th St and up the hill to Penn Ave; Penn Ave to Negley; Negley back over to Stanton Ave; Stanton Ave up the hill back into Stanton Heights.

It's a good training run, especially with all the hills.
