I'm relocating to Pittsburgh and wondering if anyone can tell me where Squirrel Hill ends and becomes Greenfield? Is Montclair St at Greenfield Street considered Squirrel Hill? Is this considered a safe neighborhood?

What are your thoughts on Flemington Street and Mirror Street?

Thanks!

Flemington is the first street in Greenfield off of Murray Ave. Mirror, Montclair, Greenfield Ave are all in Greenfield as well.

The late Mayor Caliguiri was born on Flemington back in the 1930's. The late Mayor O'Connor was also from Greenfield.

The border is basically the parkway to the North and then Saline Street to the East. All those streets you mentioned are Greenfield, but some of them in the parts of Greenfield that are usually listed as Squirrel Hill by real estate people. They're all safe.

The higher parts of Flemington and Mirror Streets aren't as nice as they are when you get close to Murray or Windsor, but that's mainly aesthetics and topography. Montclair and Greenfield Ave isn't where anybody thinks they are in Squirrel Hill that I've ever heard. It's just an ordinary street in Greenfield, close to the grocery store and the bus line if that is of interest.

See the link for the exact border.

I never new Saline was the cut off, I thought it was Beechwood! I almost bought a house on Saline, it was listed as Squirrel hill, according to the map it was Greenfield. Not that it would have mattered!

Everybody thinks that and I don't think you'd get any kind of a price cut for being on the Greenfield side of Saline. The streets the OP is talking should probably show a price difference between themselves and Squirrel Hill South proper.

Hang on, I lived on Kennebec, which is past Flemington and I had the Squirrel Hill zip code. I always considered the bridge to be the border but my postal address figured differently.

Greenfield and Squirrel Hill have the same zipcode, 15217.

Which hill? There must be some zipcode overlap with 15207, which is mostly Hazelwood.
