I need desperate help here...

My husband spotted some weed in our backyard so he put some weed killer on the spots.

In days, our backyard had several yellow patches as grass started dying

The problem is, this is a rented house

How could we save the lawn??

Thanks for any idea!!!

Chances are what's dying is crabgrass, not regular grass.

You'll need to reseed vacant spaces after the appropriate period of time after the weed killer was applied.

What product did you use? Was it a selective broad leaf killer for lawns, or something like roundup which kills everything. If the first, then probably the weeds going dry? If the later, then you will need to reseed. Spring is a good time to do it. First I would wait a week or two for the poison to dissipate. Perhaps speed the process by soaking the ground. After you reseed you will need to water the spots daily for a few weeks...
