I suppose I'm just more timid than you. If someone honks at me I do everything I can to try to appease that person before they go postal! I mean, nobody's perfect, not even former forum member and professional driver scottrpriester.

Some people see a white line and think of a crosswalk, so they are used to ignoring it.

Don't do that. It's rewarding aggression and causing more trouble down the line. If people find that honking works, they are going to do it more often. The more often people honk, the more likely I am to flip them the bird.

You're a considerate driver and a rare breed for sure. Way too many people are in hurry when driving. I've learned that saving a few minutes is not worth the stress of driving like a maniac. I used to a very aggressive driver but I've changed. I always try to remember that things might be an isolated incident with any particular driver, but I fully admit that the white line thing is something that really aggravates me.

I can't tell if you have a really dry wit or are very new. Either way, welcome.

Thank you. I do have dry wit, but I was NOT being snarky with comment. I was giving on honest assessment on SteelCityRising's comments. Most people are selfish drivers and he/she is not.

Oh and when I mentioned about people being in a hurry I should have explained. What I meant is that I see far too many drivers trade safety for time. For example, I frequently see cars in front of me run red lights at busy intersections. Way too dangerous for me (not to mention citations). That's one example I can give and there are more. No reason to drive like a Sunday driver every day, but let's be safe.

If you were to just sit behind the white line waiting for all approaching traffic on southbound Morewood to clear you'd NEVER get through the light many times, and nobody behind you will, either.
Agreed, at intersections with poor sight lines or when traffic is especially busy, if you don't actually enter the intersection when the lights turn green, then you'll never be able to turn left at all. Sometimes the trick is to enter without turning slightly, therefore avoiding blocking the oncoming left lane.

I think people handle the intersection of Wilkins & Shady the best when it comes to making left-hand turns. Usually they pull into the intersection far enough (and towards the center line enough) so that the rest of the traffic in each direction can still seamlessly flow around their turning vehicles. That intersection can become very congested at rush-hour.

I may come off as a bad driver on here, but other than speeding through non-residential areas (15 miles per hour? Really?!) and not yielding to jaywalkers I'm a very safe driver. I've driven about 200,000 miles since I was 16 and have never been in an accident that was my fault (you can't fault me for having people running red lights into me).
