Lancaster PA is considerably further from Harrisburg than York PA is, and has its own attractions as a big tourist destination- a lot more so than York does.
York always seems to get the short end of the stick in perception. It really has just as much going for it as Lancaster, and half of its downtown wasn't destroyed during the urban renewal era, like Lancaster's was.

Urban sprawl is horrendous in South Central PA. This is why York, Lancaster, Gettysburg, Chambersburg, Carlisle, Harrisburg, and Lebanon are all so interconnected in terms of economics. I've led the push several times on City-Data for the addition of a "South Central PA" sub-forum to no avail, though.
