Well I hope him the best. He has two years to 'right the ship' in the proper direction. I think where Mark D would have helped the cause was making the city's business climate better, more atractive and more accomodating for small and medium sized business. Since he has been involved deeply with business creation and consulting in the private sector. And when you get down to it, small and medium sized buisness is where the economy is driven. God knows Pittsburgh needs this in response to all the side effects of a poor business climate > erosion of the tax base, population decline of the inner city, struggles to pay for ancient infrastructure effects,the need to jump start major projects downtown with tiffs and artificial financing, rise in crime, etc.. And I do hope Mayor Luke is more receptive to looking at the merging of some major city and county services at the very least. There are many success stories out there of positive merger cities nation wide. Time to get busy Luke ! And Mark DeSantis, thanks for your word on staying involved ! Bravo Bravo...
