Pittsburgh isn't a very devise area, it tends to be either black or white. The areas that have real diversity (with a mix of both race, and social classes), are considered undesirable.

Really? What about parts of the Lower North Side, such as Manchester? What about Stanton Heights? East Liberty? There are plenty of socioeconomically and racially integrated neighborhoods in Pittsburgh that aren't "undesirable". I'm inclined to agree that the majority of Pittsburgh's majority-African-American neighborhoods are horrid (i.e. Homewood, Lincoln-Lemington, Hill District, etc.), but most of those with a plurality of whites and blacks are much more stable.

Getting back on-topic to the OP I can't believe how overpriced those Oak Hill units truly are. If you look at the CraigsList ads they charge about what you'd expect to pay at upscale complexes such as the Cork Factory in the Strip District.

that's why i think i found my ideal place. now regarding the location, management of said apartment i have no idea but some folks on this forum have told me the location is nice/safe.

just keep in mind for next year, op or if you hate it try to sublease it.
