My only point was that I get tired of when people say things aren't about race, but class. Not that it isn't true often, but it's generally reflexively used as a mantra to show you're "right-thinking" about things. You need to look at the data, and what it shows is while poor white communities do have crime, when you look at nationwide crime statistics, the percentage of African-Americans in correlates much more closely with the level of crime than any other statistic.

This in no way, I think, means there's anything wrong with black people as a whole, or black culture in particular. But if we want to discover true, equitable, and fair policy solutions, we have to be honest about what the problems are.
