Except unfortunately the original question is old and the new question is only about Mt Lebo.

Mt Lebo is fine and there are rentals there. You should keep in mind that Mt Lebo does not have bussing for schools though. Either needs to be close enough to walk or someone would have to drop the kid there.

That said, there are other places you could look at that might cut your commute. Peters, as mentioned, would put you farther south and notably more convenient to I-79. But then, I'm not sure what kind of rental market there is out there. What sort of housing are you hoping for? I certainly wouldn't buy if you're only staying 2 years. I'm guessing there are some apartments down that way but won't be too many single-family rentals.

Now if the goal is to live that much closer to the city and its amenities, then by all means look at Mt Lebanon. But it is going to add significantly to your commute, assuming you have to commute that is. With active duty I figure that's a decent assumption, but then I don't really know how it works.

Good luck and thanks.
