Those are great pictures, thanks for the link.

I did not know about the Penn Incline. Looks like it went right over where the East Busway runs today. That would be a cool sight to see a giant steel structure above you while riding the bus. I wonder how that was dismantled?

Actually, there are still mills in Clairton, Braddock, Irvin (West Mifflin), and I think Brackenridge and Vandergrift. And isn't that coke works still on Neville Island, or is it gone?

Very carefully, I'm sure. The incline went over Bigelow Blvd as well as the Pennsylvania RR and traffic would have had to been stopped.

Does anyone know the date they took it down? It would be interested to hear from someone who saw it, I guess around 1960.
