Scary Pittsburgh murders? (Penn Hills, Wilkinsburg, North Versailles: home, college, living in)

What's really scary about pittsburgh homicides is that over 80% are African American males under 30 years of age and most are not investigated to the full extent. I've just yesterday witnessed a drive by shooting where two young men where shot and it took the ambulance 20 minutes to get there and the ambulance station is no more than a block and a half away.

How do you expect police to investigate a murder when the witnesses won't cooperate?

Just because there's an ambulance station nearby doesn't mean they are at the station. And they are not to arrive at an active shooting until after police arrive. They are not military medics who work in a battlefield. The situations they find themselves in are downright frightening. Try arriving at an active crime scene in the middle of the night without police backup on a regular basis in your life. It's not what they are paid to do; otherwise, they would be armed. Not only is there the risk of a shooter still being around, but there are often angry crowds. They have wear bulletproof vests because paramedics to get shot!

I surely hope the post wasn't trying to suggest some sort of conspiracy by the emt's against African Americans or by anything remotely that loony

I'll go out on a limb and surmise that you witnessed the horrible daytime driveby shooting in Fineview. I hope that you are able to offer the police assistance so that they can get the shooters. Seeing something like that sounds like a harrowing experience.

Anyone remember the Anthony Michalowski murder around Christmas 1988? He disappeared from Liberty Avenue Downtown and his body parts were found in dumpsters throughout Pittsburgh. His head was found North Versailles if I recall. He was a bit of a drifter and would prostitute himself to other men even though he was supposedly not gay. Somebody apparently had it out for him.
