What do you all think of what they mention as the most important major areas of focus? Are these your top concerns for the region as well? It would be nice if they went into more detail about how these were identified as the most urgent.

Allegheny Conference, first tuned to Pittsburgh, now more regional - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

What are your thoughts on Harold Miller's take on the zero chance of a better transportation system? Will the region truly diversify? Is Rich Fitzgerald the king of wishful thinking or is Harold Miller a debbie downer? Or is the truth going to be somewhere in the middle?

He wasn't saying there was "no chance" of a better transportation system, he was saying there isn't going to be a comprehensive light-rail system.

The public transit system, as has been discussed frequently on this board, can be improved greatly just by better connection of the T and busways, expanded BRT technique, and smarter route management.

Thanks for posting, it was a nice read, although I'd love to see an expanded article with some heavier analytics on those topics.

I am fine with a modern, efficient, and widespread BRT system coupled with some sort of regional rail initiative. And I think these goals are achievable.
