I'm surprised there were no finalists in the South. Almost guaranteed non-union and usually some aggressive tax incentives to be had. Denver would offer similar labor advantages over the two locations in the rust belt.

I can see making a decision based on the location of your parts suppliers or subcontractors, or for the previously mentioned incentives. But after that, what does one city really have to offer over another? They all have a large supply of willing laborers, they all have a suitably educated workforce for the non-production jobs. They all have highways and railroads and the needed infrastructure for moving both parts and finished goods.

I don't like to make guesses with things when there are finalists for locations, but it seems like Pittsburgh has had its decent share of being chosen in situations like this.

There's a 66.7% chance that somebody will use this decision as proof of how "inferior" the job market in Pittsburgh is at some point in the future.

Pittsburgh is taking a good shot. Imo they need to spend money on getting business like this or startups.
