WaWa. I know they are in the Philly area, but they have better food that Sheetz IMHO.
There are Firehouse Subs in the Pittsburgh area now one in Robinson and one in the South Hills in the same plaza as the Sharp Edge. I agree they are pretty tasty I had the New York Steamer once. Quiznos has been struggling for a while now due to the competition and getting sued.

If they make good food... I do.

Micro Center is overrated.

Travelers like to eat at chain restaurants. A McDonalds in Pittsburgh serves the exact same menu as the one in Tulsa, Butte or Boston, or wherever the traveler is from. They know what to expect when they walk in and if they find it acceptable back home, they will here as well.

I don't completely eschew chains/franchises for food. But around here (home) at least the only chains I hit for eating out are smaller local ones. Like today it was Burgatory. That is a chain now that has 3 or 4 locations.

When I drove alone south to Florida I hit up a fast food chicken chain I never heard of called Zaxby's, which I liked. Also Cook Out was another fast food chain I tried once down that way, pretty good. But even then on the next trip I found a good one off place to eat that's close to the highway in Charlotte. That'll be a planned stop next time.

Compared to what? Around here we have no such stores with a wide selection of computer parts. Mostly I don't shop in a store for that stuff but on occasion I find it useful to be able to walk in and get.

Anyway, just like the food we want what we don't have close by.

Compared to what you can get if you shop around. Some of their stuff (accessories mostly) is just unbelievably overpriced.

I guess you can say they beat Best Buy but they're not quite competing in the same market. A more accurate competitor would be Tiger Direct or Newegg.

I won't argue that, I only go there for Diet Coke, they clean the lines on a regular basis. But if I want a burger locally, don't think it will be Mickey D's.

Egghead Software; now, that store was awesome. I don't know if there was one around here back in the day.

Fair enuf, but if you're the one who is traveling, you at least know what the Ft. Myers or Newark Mickey D's is serving-- the same gruel as you can buy locally that you are familiar with.
