You mean there aren't many Peruvian Jews in Squirrel Hill?

place kinda seems like it could do well, very well or close in 6 months. all depending where.
Was that restaurant in DC proper or along the Richmond highway? Pretty much anything Latin American works in either. There's no area like that here. Beechview is closest culturally. But Andean cuisine is typically mild and doesn't use exotic ingredients (most root veggies, corn, rice, proteins) except for cuy - and I don't think cuy would go over well here. I enjoy pretty much all Latin American cuisines and probably would've found myself at Aji Picante eventually, but rarely.

I think you'd have to wrap Andean cuisine in with a Pan-Americas concept to have a shot at that. Or just a simple, mostly takeout place like the Peruvian chicken joint on 21st St. in the Strip.

I'm sure that Cranberry will be on the short list, after Darden comes up with Peruvian concept chain.

To be fair Youngstown has indeed become one of our favorite day-tripping destinations.

Stew Leonards - Fun place to shop at and they make a lot of things fresh at the store that you can see in front of you, like fresh mozzarella, cheese apple cider donuts, and sweet potato chips (these are the best). They package everything there too so you could take home a bag of warm sweet potato chips or donuts. I think they only have four locations in the NY-CT area. My sister used to live in CT and we'd always visit one when we saw her.

Pink Berry - Never tried it, but heard rave reviews about it from several people I know. Looks great too.

Are you talking Luciano's from BP?

Personally I can't take pizza recommendations from native Pittsburghers. What you guys typically like is definitely not my style (Beto's, Police Station, Campiti's? Yuck to all). I'd take a'Badamo, Claudio's, Harry's and certainly Cucina Bella & Il Piz over Luciano's in a heartbeat.

And if you said "beats any pizza from New Haven" I'd have to find you and beat you.
