Yep - I was thinking Gunnar. That's the area I like skiing. There's some decent runs over there.

Going to be warm this week, down here anyway.

If you want to learn to ski, it's a really good idea to take a lesson. Even a short group lesson will have you up and going faster than anything else. Maybe they offer learn to ski package deal? I remember years ago there was a one-day promo where some ski areas offered free lift tickets (possibly limited to a certain lift area) and lessons to anyone who had never skied before. I took a friend to that once, probably last time I skied too (about 15 years ago). I think all she had to pay for was equipment rental, or maybe even that was included. I don't think they still do that freebie day anymore but maybe there are some packages. Here, for example, 59 bucks for a first timer package at Hidden Valley on a weekday: First Time Experience Lesson | Hidden Valley Resort (They do similar package at Seven Springs but it costs more there.)

Here ya go, buy a voucher for $39, which is then good ANY one day during entire 2013-2014 season, including weekend/holiday. Available from PA Ski Area Association for various PA resorts including Seven Springs and Hidden Valley. Includes lift, equipment rental and lesson for beginners. Ski PA - PSAA - First Time Offer Way better deal than the normal weekend/holiday rate. But looks like limited number, some resorts are sold out so go buy one already.

EDIT: Ugh you gotta order by mail or fax and deadline is December 13, order must be received by that date. Click on the brochure and it has the form you need in it. They do take credit cards at least, heh.

Well it seems Seven Springs will be open this weekend for the last hurrah. It was a pretty good year, but I didn't ski as much this year as last. It was crazy cold some days. They sure were open one heck of a lot of days this year.

Was an excellent season in the local hills, and north east in general. Think we got 5 days in at 7 Springs, 4 at Snowshoe, 2 at Blue Knob and Holiday Valley, and a few more a little further afield. I'd love to head up there this weekend but am on my way to Sydney

The snowpack in Vermont is good still, and if it lasts we may head up there for a long weekend in a couple of weeks. I love spring skiing.

Since your seem to bounce around a bit, I heard that by buying a Snow Show gives you a lot of perks at Seven Springs and Hidden Valley.
