That's the typical pattern most of winter. Very few mild dry days to dry everything up before the temp drops below freezing. Always always damp.

Roads and properly treated parking lots are 95% dry right now. Untreated lots, driveways, and sidewalks, not at all. Some rain, and they'll be slush. Frigid temps, and they'll be a skating rink.

If it wasn't an atypical risk, I wouldn't have bothered posting.

The colder the blast, the shorter it will last!! As early as late Tuesday evening the temperature will start to rise and your fear of freezing in step out your front door will be a faded memory.

I predict its going to be cold enough to freeze the nuts off the local squirrels for next 2 days, so I'm heading to work early while its still warm-ish. And snowing. Stay warm, folks. Upside, there's a good chance we'll get some sunshine

After the 1" of snow from the cold front earlier today and weekend melting, how much snow is on the ground in PIT? It's quite a bummer to have over-performing warmth virtually dissolve the possibility of the cold surpassing 2009 levels (10 below F), when most sites and models were predicting that to occur several days before

Potholes should be renamed to "wheel and tire replacement" or "yinz broke my bank account" in Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh only. I have mastered the jedi trick of avoiding such things thus far.

I have a 2nd floor deck made of wood that is making loud booming noises for the past hour.

I assume it's from the contraction of the wood in this cold but Jesus H. Christ, it's disconcerting.

Despite the low temperatures, the sun has been bright all week! It has been really lovely.
