It's the only such walkway I know of in Pgh. It came immediately to mind. It and the opening of Mary Tyler Moore.

Yes, if you think about it.

Pittsburgh has dozens of walkways above and below a lot of its streets. I don't know how popular the Forbes walkway is nowadays, but there are plenty of others in Oakland and in town and this new one in East Lib looks like a good location for one.

I used that walkway a lot when I was in college. At least 3-4 times per week.

When are you seeing nobody use it? I think its used very heavily. 15 minutes before and after every hour (when classes switch) its filled to the brim.

Yes, both to get to Posvar Hall and the Law School, and to descend to Forbes.

Also, there are several walkways connecting the hospitals in Oakland.
There is one downtown at Kauf-erm, Macy's, and one connecting Fifth Avenue Place and the Horne's/Highmark building, but I don't think that is publicly accessible.
Oh yeah, the Bridge of Sighs, but I guess that isn't really the same...

There is one crossing Penn Ave. between the hotel and the convention center- another across Strawberry connecting with the parking garage at Smithfield, still another across Garrison way connecting the old May Stern Dept Store with the Sharp Edge.
