Again, varies by region, time period, etc. for example, only 100 years ago, in Ohio, Obama would have been seen as White man. They even put it in their code of law. That is what happened in Puerto Rico as well where more than half the population identifies as White even though the African ancestry in many is obvious. Again. experiences vary by region and blanket statements tend to be innacurate as they hold up in some cases and not in others.

Dominicans and Puerto Ricans are everywhere in Pennsylvania, as are Latin American and Caribbean peoples and their descendants alike everywhere.

Apparently they're having a hard time finding each other in Pittsburgh.

There are people here of virtually every nationality if you look hard enough. I was surprised to learn that a popular Irish bar was renting space for local Brazilians to come and watch their national soccer team on Saturdays. Apparently there are enough Brazilians living here to make that a worthwhile business endeavor.

i forgot how pretty Mariah Carey was! and i totally agree with her.

but i actually have no hangups or whatever about race, or what someone chooses to identify with. the problem i have is when someone feels their groups is enlightened, special, or deserving of anything.

and that is pretty much 95% of the population, regardless of their demographic!

I was also going to suggest Meetup. You can find people with any interest, hobbies, heritage ect. So whether you're looking for Dominican friends or a mate, Meetup would be the place to begin.

Cheers.

There used to be a Latin American Cultural Center in Dormont. It has been gone quite a few years now.
Not sure if it moved someplace else or went belly-up, but may be worth trying to locate.
