Pitt should be improved, but their record might not be any better, as they have the toughest non conference schedule out there....

They are going to take a beating non-conference. I really like their defense though so hopefully we can pull off an upset over one of the 3 ranked teams on the OOC, or even 2. UCF people will scoff at but I'm telling you they are as good as ND. PSU has been recruiting like crazy so scary, but they are replacing a lot of players. Still have a very good QB and thats half the battle so not a ton of hope on that one.

On the bright side their conference schedule isn't that tough. No Clemson, no FSU, no Louisville, no NC State. Miami is top 10 but thats the only really big team on this years ACC lineup.

But they also have a weak conference schedule.

Yes, that is extremely challenging regardless of their conference schedule. This will overshadow it as well. Yes, of course, they can still do well in their division, but ultimately it might not matter.

2019 is going to tell the tale about Narduzzi. That said, in order to set things up for next year, you have to be reasonably good this year. A 7 win season would give you reason to think they might be able to win 9, or even 10 next year. A 5 win season makes you think next year will top out at around 7 wins. Fans dream of a return to 40 years ago, but I don't know if that can ever happen. The local talent base was much better back then, plus Majors, and Sherrill were able to go into the south, and land elite black players at a time when the southern schools only had their toe in the water of that talent pool. Pitt could never pull the likes of Rickey Jackson, and Hugh Green out of Florida today.

Actually, Hugh Green is from Mississippi, but your point is well taken. Hugh Green was actually discovered when Pitt was scouting a running back on the opposing renamed Rooster Jones. Hugh Green was constantly making all of the plays. Both players ended playing for Pitt.

It has nothing to do with tickets.....penn state just has more to lose playing in the series. If penn state beats pitt it doesn’t mean much but if they lose, which they are apt to do more then they should, it hurts them a lot. For Pitt on the other hand, a win is great but ultimately likely won’t change their season nor will a loss likely have much effect either.

should have waited until after they announced that tailgating mess due to the pirates, ticket prices dropped a lot.

I am glad pitts new AD moved on and scheduled wisconsin, leaving psu to have to fill in with temple. Wisconsin will be a fun road trip. I do wish they would re-up a series with WVU long term, thats the one i miss.
