Hello,

I am looking into moving out to Butler. There are quite a few nice homes for sale in and around the town. However I am not sure which part of town to start looking in. I prefer more of the suburb feel. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Soulless Cranberry seems to fit your criteria.

Pull out a map, look up Meridian Rd, and take a drive. Lots of good, reasonably priced homes along there with the suburban feel but still close to Downtown Butler.

Are you looking for the town of Butler or just anywhere in the county?

I've only been to downtown Butler once or twice; but to be perfectly honest here, being there scared me a little bit

I think it's pretty safe. A lot of closed up storefronts and a few meth-heads walking around the town, but that happens anywhere these days. Being the County Seat helps that area quite a bit.

And they still have the bells that ring at the traffic lights for the blind.

Well it didn't help my mindset that I was totally lost . . .

More likely opiate addicts which impacts property crimes, but overall it is a safe area.

Butler has more nice places than people give it credit for:

- Candy/coffee: Cummings Candy & Coffee» Cummings Candy and Coffee, Butler, PA | fair trade organic coffees plus handmade chocolates

- Hippish food: The Chop Shop

- Old school ice cream: King Cones Castle - Home

- Micro brewery (not quite open yet): Butler Brew Works | Adventurous Ales

Pretty sure I saw an art gallery when I was there last too.
