Basically, nothing changed. The Buccos marketing department just used a technicality to subtly promote merchandise sales.

Alright, now we sit back and wait to hear how this non-event proves that the Nuttings are cheap and last year was a fluke...

That's proven by the lack of money spent on MLB talent and the continued signing of minor leaguers. Word is the Pirates/Nutting made 20 million this past year and will make 40 million next year.

How many are going to lay down money that they're going to have a winning season this year?

Any specific players you would've liked them to sign?

Burnett for one, but as is the Bucco way, they low balled him. But as I posted right after the season, I said they wouldn't sign him, Byrd, Morneau, etc... And before you say other teams paid too much for them, the reality is the MLB market price is the market price.

I don't have any hopes/expectations on them signing anybody in particular. I've come to realize that they will spend money on lackluster talent and see if it all sticks. They know it doesn't matter if they win or lose as people will still buy into their marketing strategy.

Curious to know what is spent on fireworks, concerts, and the other circus acts, etc... to get tix sold.

How much money you laying down that they'll have a winning season?

Those are paid by the sponsors.

As for Burnett, at 36, I would load up his contract with incentives. He does not deserve a 2 year contract, he burns out in the 2nd half.

You mentioned a 2 year contract before. Again, who said anything about a 2 year contract? Do you know something nobody else does? Burnett said 1 year. They low balled him and he didn't accept. The Pirates just announced he doesn't expect to be signed.

Will you be laying down money on a winning season?

Nope. Many feel that the Pirates are headed to winning ways after this past season. Each year there's an opportunity to place legal bets via Vegas/online betting. With so much confidence, just curious to see if anybody's gonna lay some money on the prediction of another winning season by betting on 82 or more wins for the regular season.

Thanks..I was wondering what your point was after you asked 3 times if anyone was going to be betting.
