Anyone ever been?

I got my fiance tickets for opening day, and were both skipping work to go down and tailgate and go to the game.

I'm from Detroit and am used to Tigers opening days where basically the whole city comes down and its a huge cluster-eff. Basically if you want to park you need it reserved months in advance. Neither of us has been to a Bucco opening day.

My question is should I be looking for a parking pass ahead of time? Or can you pull into most of those area lots early enough that day and get space?

Thanks!

We want to tailgate near the park though. That's the fun in opening day!

We always give our Opening Day tickets away...

Availability day-of-game will depend upon how many parking passes were sold. And with it being the first game, no one can really say how tough it will be or how close you can get.

I agree, the tailgate is a big part of it all. I would look for a pass near the stadium. If you can't get one really close, you can park in a nearby Northside lots on Allegheny Ave and Ridge. They tailgate up there for Steeler Games, but I think the closer the better for the real fun. Hopefully someone will chime in that has season tickets and knows the ropes better. It has been a while for me.

As it's an afternoon game, many lots normally used for night game parking will already be full with commuters' cars. And as it's a sellout (and fans typically come early for Opening Day), there will be literally zero chance of finding an open spot for tailgating near PNC. So if tailgating is your priority, pretty much your only hope is finding a parking pass. Good luck with that. We'll be taking the T from the South Hills.

Are they going to go back to sucking this year or should I start paying attention before August?

They'll be OK but not quite as good as last year, in my opinion

You can ALWAYS find tickets or parking passes. It is all about $. Many times if I am going to an event, I hear people say, it is sold out or you can't go. Please. You can ALWAYS go as long as you don't mind paying. Pony up the bucks and have fun!
