Be happy we're being funded for even this much. Did you forget that you're talking about the city that's so impoverished it still hasn't been able to patch potholes?

It's a good start. Once these prove to be successful I'm guessing this will just be the beginning.

Yeah, it's a great continuation of the work with PeopleForBikes.

For me, each of these project's highest values are still in terms of increased public awareness and the statement of support from the city.

One day we might have complete streets and fantastic infrastructure. In the meantime, we have projects that keep pushing cycling foreward in the mind share of the city, and that's really huge.

Nice. I can't run right now, and maybe never again, so I'm going to start biking around the city more. At some point I'd like to attempt to ride to work in East Liberty from the Northside and any little bit of added bike infrastructure makes me less afraid of biking through the east end.

Pro-bike folks in the Northside (or anywhere), please attend. A dedicated bike lane in that area could make a ton of sense and make my rides to the Strip a bit easier.

Bike Pittsburgh | Wed. March 4: E Ohio St Reconstruction Public Meeting

In conjunction with the work being performed on the old Bank/ ARC House, the potential of bringing around East Deutchtown may finally be beginning to come to fruition.
