Hi Pittsburgh,

I'm Edmond and I will visit Pittsburgh in three weeks. I'm very excited!

I'm a big NHL's fan and I look for a good shop (corner shop) to find Penguins' Jersey and other jerseys NHL. (For exemple, I'm looking for the jersey of Mike Modano when he won the Stanley Cup in 1999 and other old school jersey).

And, I would like to know a sport shop specialized in Ice Hockey (kind a big store with hockey sticks, skates and many more). I want to buy new skates and It will be great to find this one in Pittsburgh.

Thank you very much for your help.

Edmond / Switzerland

PS: I'm going to watch 3 last Penguins games (Detroit / Philly and Ottawa). If you're some beautiful place to drink a beer before this games, I appreciate to know it! ;0)

This is a chain, but might be interesting for you:

Hockey Equipment Store Locator | Total Hockey Stores

Of course there's the penguins store in the arena too, but it has mostly Pittsburgh stuff.

As far as hockey stores, there is Total Hockey, Pure Hockey and KoSports. We prefer KoSports. It is located south of Pittsburgh. It is a huge local store.

I know nothing about the sports memorabilia business in Pittsburgh. Sorry.

You might not find a place that has non-Pittsburgh NHL gear. Most of the stores around here just sell Penguins stuff. The Strip District is worth a stroll though as there are several stores there that sell Pittsburgh gear. Anyone have an opinion on what the best/biggest is?

I like Yinzers. It seems like they have the largest selection of officially licensed stuff

Thanks for your answers!

You are great!

I think to go at Ko Sports. I follow your advice.
The Yinkers is near of my hotel. I'd go ta have a look.

Where the Pens' fan drink something? Kind of big bar near of the Arena? In Vancouver, I love the Shark Club (www.sharkclubs.com). An advice?

Go Pens Go!

Near Consol, there's the Red Ring (on Forbes Ave), The Souper Bowl (On 5th Ave), Steelheads (in the Mariott Hotel across from Consol), and I think another new bar just opened on Fifth Ave right across the street from hockey that's specifically designed to be a hockey bar.

That new bar is the Blue Line Grille.

Thanks for that. I haven't been down that stretch of Fifth Ave for a few months so I haven't seen it since they were renovating the building.
