You remember back in your high school days, every time you got in an argument with someone, the argument usually got reduced to "I'll meet you outside" in the end?
Well, this is outside.
Terms of Service rules still apply, but enforcement won't be quite as strictly interpreted... not quite as quick... not quite as hair-triggered, if you will, as posting in the normal threads. Think of it like getting a traffic ticket in downtown Boston. Sure, people get them... but there's an awful lot of right-hand turns from left-handed lanes, etc ., that don't get ticketed. Basically, it's a matter of degree.
Inappropriate language: think of George Carlin's 7 words you can't say on TV.
Off-topic posts: don't exist in this thread.
Name-calling: still verboten , but more aggressive attacks on ideas will be tolerated.
The concept here: Kind of like the idea of the Combat Zone in Boston. Put all the smut in one place so the rest of the City stays safe. In other words, play nice in the regular forum threads. If you feel you must get into a "messy" argument, or one that could result in infractions.... take it outside! For those who need it spelled out, that means bring your fights in here rather than crapping up the threads in the regular forum.
This is a bit of an experiment here in the Pittsburgh forum. I am sure the rules of this thread will evolve a bit over time, so you'll want to check back here to this first post from time to time to see if any do's or don'ts have been posted.
