Free Ride is great. They are very DIY. As far as more traditional shops go, Thick Bikes has used bikes; they post new acquisitions
on their blog .
Iron City bikes is in Oakland. They mostly have newer bikes, but you may find them useful for advice, repairs, and accessories (locks, helmets, lights).
