Good morning all,
My fiance and I are interested in getting some bikes & biking to work! We live in Oakland (for now) & wanted to buy used bikes just incase it isnt exactly what we're interested in.

Any suggestions on used bike shops?

I've never used them, but people talk about Free Ride. It's right where Construction Junction is.

Free Ride is great. They are very DIY. As far as more traditional shops go, Thick Bikes has used bikes; they post new acquisitions on their blog. Iron City bikes is in Oakland. They mostly have newer bikes, but you may find them useful for advice, repairs, and accessories (locks, helmets, lights).

If you volunteer for a few hours you can get the bike free of charge. I did it years ago.

It's linked in #4. No need to Google anything.
